Bert’s take
Piazza Navona is a long oval because it was built on a Roman stadium and it kept its shape. Bernini’s gorgeous Four Rivers fountain, right in the middle of it, is my favorite fountain in Rome — absolutely stunning, and even more so at night. The main church on the piazza is Sant’Agnese in Agone, worth getting into if it is open. In December there is a cute Christmas market. I still do not know how I feel about those huge advertising billboards on the buildings, though.
